John's composing career has its roots in his teaching job at George Brown College Theatre School. He has written songs and incidental music for George Brown Productions of: Alice, the Paper Bag Princess, Aesop's Adventure, The Wind in the Willows (James Simon, Director), Monster Munsch (Kevin Orr, Director), Dancock's Dance (Richard Greenblatt, Director), and The Beaux Stratagem (Jeannette Lambermont, Director). John music directed the George Brown/Equity Showcase Theatre production of Stephen Sondheim's Sunday in the Park with George (Sue Miner, Director). In 2002 John also music directed the 1996 Donmar Warehouse version of Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera for George Brown (Mark Wilson, Director).
